Our programs are designed to enhance people’s lives and promote healthy, happy lifestyles. All programs strive to make you strong in spirit, mind, and body.
Whether you have a passion for mentoring, hiking or you just don’t want to work-out alone, our programs offer you the chance to challenge yourself while keeping your mind and body active. Our programs serve a variety of interests for kids, teens, adults, and families while bringing together our community.
Through engagement with families, the Y helps them learn, grow and thrive, individually and together. Driven by our three areas of focus–youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility–family strengthening nurtures the potential of every child, improves family health and well-being, and provides opportunities for families to contribute and support their communities.

Mentoring, at its core, guarantees to a child the fact that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter.
That is Y Mentors.

Coming Summer 2018! Wouldn’t it be amazing if a bus full of books showed up in your neighborhood over the summer? Well, at team of educators, community members, and the Y have teamed up to turn this dream into a reality. We are taking a school bus and converting it into a mobile library. We will need high school and adult age volunteers to help man the bus as we travel throughout Barry County serving kids most in need. Stay tuned for more updates!

YMCA patrons are welcome to hike the YMCA Spirit Trails. There are 10 different trails, which would take about 45 minutes to complete at a quick pace. Enjoy the trails for leisure walks, power walks, and during the winter months, cross country skiing or snowshoeing. Bring the family and/or friends. Park in the Y parking lot. Trails begin across the road.
In conjunction with the City of Hastings, the YMCA of Barry County is managing the new Hammond Hill Disc Golf course. Local volunteers have spent hundreds of hours designing and building the first 18 holes and with local grant and sponsorship moneys have installed 18 permanent baskets. Course improvements continue. The course is located at Zhigaawin Park on Hammond Road with no charge for daily walk on play.
No Cost – Please, just leave the land as you found it, OR BETTER.
