Be a Coach at the Y
Our coaches make YMCA youth sports possible and create a lifelong impact on children by encouraging participation and emphasizing sportsmanship and strong character. When you become a volunteer, the Y will introduce you to coaching and provide resources specific to the sport you coach.
Required Coach Safety Video
Keeping youth safe is the YMCA’s top priority, and YMCA’s that have adopted best practices in child safety is meeting many of the requirements outlined by the Safe Sport Act (SSA). The SSA requires sports organizations to establish reasonable procedures to limit one-on-one interactions between an adult and an athlete who is a minor. As a coach, you are REQUIRED to complete an online course within 14 days of applying. You will receive instructions after your application has been reviewed.
Coach your Child. Save on Registration. Make a Difference!
Head Coach: Pay the registration fee, receive a CREDIT* at the end of the season
Assistant Coach: pay ½ of the registration fee
Tiny Tot Coaches: pay ½ of the registration fee
*Credit = credit expires before the start of the next Fall Season, 2027.
