Learn to Care for your Hair


  • WHEN: Wednesdays, 6-7 pm, 3/6, 3/20, & 3/27
  • WHERE: YMCA Lodge
  • AGE: 8-17 years old
  • COST: $65 (Includes a Hair Styling Mannequin to keep)
  • INSTRUCTOR: Courtney Girrbach, K & C Boutique Salon Owner

LIMIT 8 Students Per Class

Adults WELCOME and encouraged to participate with child at no charge. Dad, that means you too!

  • Class 1: March 6: Basic Hair Care: Learn how to brush, shampoo/condition, and put your hair up in a ponytail. And how to keep your hair easy to brush.
  • Class 2: March 20: Basic Curling: Learn to curl your hair, what products to use, and how to care for your hair when you use heat (please bring your curling iron if you have one).
  • Class 3: March 27: Basic Braiding: Learn how to braid hair using a mannequin (included in price).

Hunter Education-Traditional Course

Hunter Safety Educates Knowledgeable, Responsible, & Involved Hunters

This 2-day course provides basics on how firearms work, shooting skills, marksmanship, hunting techniques, game care, survival skills, tree stand safety, basic wildlife management and hunter ethics.

Next course available in 2024:

Session: Saturday, March 16th, 8:00 am-4:00 pm and Sunday March 17th, 9:00 am-3:00 pm

  • Instructor: Jeff Harthy
  • Location: YMCA of Barry County, 2055 Iroquois Trail, Hastings
  • Fee: $10 (payment due at first class) (Lunch provided both days)
  • Students under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Class limited to 45 participants
  • There will be outside activities, so dress for the weather
